Repair of plank table

Has your table acquired patina, scratches or marks?

If your plank table has developed a patina from daily use that you cannot accept, fear not.
Scratches and scuffs on the wood can easily be removed with a little sandpaper.

Guide to minor scratches, scrapes & stains

1. Completely sand scratches & stains away with 80-grit sandpaper, sanding along the grain.

2. Next, sand the entire tabletop with 120-grit sandpaper, also sanding along the grain.

3. Apply an oil treatment to the table.

Has your plank table acquired larger scratches & cracks?

If your table has acquired larger scratches or cracks, over 1 millimeter deep, you can easily repair
them with a bit of wood filler. You can follow our guide below to restore your table to its original appearance.

Guide to repairing larger scratches & cracks

1.  Lightly sand the scratch or crack with 80-grit sandpaper to remove any unevenness.

2. If the crack goes all the way through, secure the underside of the table
with a piece of tape to prevent drips on the floor.

3. Wear gloves and fill the crack with our fast-curing glue, widening the crack if necessary.

4. Sprinkle wood filler powder into the crack and press it in with your fingers.
Let it dry for 5 minutes, then sand lightly with 80-grit sandpaper.

5. Check if the wood filler has settled. If so, apply more filler. This time,
mix the wood filler powder with water. Let it dry for 30 minutes.

6. Sand over the crack with coarse 80-grit sandpaper, followed by 120-grit sandpaper.

7. Finally, apply oil with a scouring pad and let it sit for 10 minutes. Avoid wiping off too much
– you want it to match the rest ofthe table.

8. The table will be ready for use after 24 hours and fully cured after 2-3 days.

9. If a smoother surface is desired, the entire table can be lightly sanded after
24 hours with 220-grit sandpaper. Repeat the oil treatment.

Has your table acquired wind cracks or loose wood?

If your table has wind cracks, you can sand it until it is smooth. If there is some loose wood,
it may be necessary to lift the wood slightly and press regular wood glue underneath the loose part.

Guide to repairing wind cracks or loose wood on your tabletop?

1. Press regular wood glue under the loose wood.

2. Apply pressure to the repair and place something heavy on top. Let the glue dry for 12 hours.

3. Sand the table until it is completely smooth and apply an oil treatment.

Have condensation rings appeared on the wood?

White condensation rings can be effectively removed using the above guide. However, in some cases,
they can also be removed by using a hot air hairdryer or an iron with a towel in between.
